Welcome to theatre junkie press!

Fine Arts education is crucial to a child's development.

There. Its been said. Anyone who tries to tell you differently is just plain wrong.

Students need music, art, theatre, and dance to become well rounded adults that contribute to society. There are many studies about the arts and education, but despite the overwhelming results that point to the need for the arts to begin in early childhood, most school districts do not provide a curriculum that supports this. Music, art, and theatre are not found in all elementary schools, and this is a sad state of affairs.

Theatre arts is an excellent place for students to develop all kinds of skills: imagination, public speaking, identifying emotion, creative problems solving, reading fluency, comprehension--and that's just a few. Yet, unfortunately, there aren't enough resources out there for the elementary theatre teacher to use solely for theatre arts instruction.

That's where theatre junkie press comes in.

We are committed to providing educational materials specifically for the elementary theatre arts teacher. Sure, classroom teachers can use these things too with great success, but our real customer is you--the fine arts educator struggling to find resources for your classroom.

We hope that in our publications and other resources, you find some gem that will make your life easier and enhance arts education for your students.

Our blog site will be used to show case ideas and lessons that will be helpful to the classroom teacher. In the meantime, visit our home website at theatre junkie press
